Wind & Water Tight

The term, Wind and Water Tight (WWT), is commonly used to describe and qualify used storage containers. These are cargo containers that have been repurposed to provide a cost-effective option for short- and long-term secure storage.

These containers are built of steel and are made to carry 30 tons of cargo. They can be stacked 9 high to support loads as much as 270 tons placed on top of them.

No premanufactured shed will ever protect your goods as effectively as a solid second-hand container which has been deemed WWT!

Definition

WWT containers are literally “wind and water tight”. From inside the container, you will not see any light coming through the panels or the roof. However, note that this criterion makes no reference to the quality of the understructure.

Within the industry, a WWT container is not considered safe for the transport of cargo. However, at Graystone, we personally inspect every container to ensure that it meets with our high standards. Compare our competitors’ containers to a Graystone, and you will agree, our WWT containers are a cut above the rest!
